Joystick MRS Study

Volunteers needed for MRI study of the brain.

We are looking for healthy volunteers to improve our understanding of brain structure and brain function.  In particular, we will use a type of MRI called magnetic resonance spectroscopy that we will use to examine how chemicals in your brain change while you are performing a joystick-based computer task.

We need volunteers who are:

• Aged 18-60
• Right-handed
• In good health and not pregnant
• Without metal in their head or body (except fillings)
• Without metallic implants (e.g. pacemaker)
• and have not had surgery in the past 3 months

You will be asked questions about your medical history to check your suitability for an MRI scan.

The study involves two visits to the John Radcliffe hospital that would each take about 2 hours of your time.  You would be asked to lie still in a scanner and either rest or perform a joystick-based computer task.

You will be reimbursed for your time and travel.
