Subcellular Proteomics of Parkinson's Disease

My primary research interests are in modelling psychiatric illnesses using human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived neurons to provide new insight into their cause and potential treatments. I use biochemistry, proteomics, and advanced microscopy to better understand what proteins bind to and influence the mislocalisation and dysfunction of alpha-synuclein; the primary toxic agent in Parkinson's Disease, in neurons generated from Parkinson's Disease patients and healthy controls.
