NDCN is committed to good research governance, and expects all Department members to be responsible for understanding and carrying out their research activities with academic integrity, and in line with the many regulations, policies and procedures, and best practices governing research activities. We are here to help, and the University has many excellent resources to support good research governance:

NDCN staff working with human research participants or human tissue samples must complete appropriate training for their roles. Be sure to check with your supervisor about any additional specific training requirements for your projects, keep copies of any completion certificates in case of audit, and report your completed training on iPassport where applicable.

Researchers working on externally-sponsored studies involving human participants hosted by NDCN should make contact with the Head of Department's office to undertake a site review and risk assessment, and ensure any funder or sponsor requirements are met before commencing study activities.

The Research Data Oxford website provides guidance on research data management, storage, and sharing.

If you have any questions or concerns about research governance in the Department, please contact james.lee@ndcn.ox.ac.uk or hodoffice@ndcn.ox.ac.uk
