Professor Heidi Johansen-Berg, Director of the Oxford Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain, has won a 5-year Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellowship to support her work on 'Activity-dependent plasticity of long-range sensorimotor connectivity'.

She says: 'The area of white matter plasticity is at a particularly exciting stage right now.  It is great to have an opportunity to push forward our work in this area and also to build new links, such as those we’ve planned to study the role of sleep with colleagues at the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute, also based in our Department.'
