Acquisition & Physics Support
We support researchers to acquire the highest quality data on the Centre’s two MRI scanners, and ensure that research participants have a positive scanning experience.
Over 1800 human scans are performed at FMRIB every year and the Centre’s team of radiographers ensure that all of these scans are performed safely and to the highest quality.
Our Senior Radiographers, Michael Sanders and Jon Campbell, advise all researchers on their scanning protocols and oversee magnet safety training and policies.
Chris Gallagher, our Technical and Computing Support Officer, develops and maintains the Centre's fMRI stimulus presentation equipment and advises on MRI compatibility of devices for use in the scanner.
Advice in using the latest physics developments for clinical or neuroscience studies is provided by Stuart Clare and Sam Hurley.
