Thomas Willis day is our annual flagship event for all members of NDCN.

It is an opportunity to celebrate our work over the past year, marking our successes in research, teaching and public engagement.


This year we will enjoy:

  • Three Minute Thesis competition for postgraduate students;

  • Inaugural lectures from Professor Holly Bridge and Professor Sarah Pendlebury;

  • break-out sessions* focused on career planning, leadership, and wellbeing in the workplace;

  • the awarding of department prizes by Head of Department, Professor Kevin Talbot.

Chris provides career support to students and research staff across all the departments, divisions and colleges at the University of Oxford and coordinates the ‘Careers Beyond Academia’ conference for researchers exploring career transitions.

 

Inclusive Leadership - for managers and aspiring managers
with Maddie Mitchell, Leadership Development Office, MSDO

Maddie is responsible for The Inclusive Leadership Programme (ILP) which offers a challenging and reflective space for academic and professional services leaders to explore different approaches to core aspects of good leadership: communication and relationship-building.

 

Resilience at work: Being for Beginners
with Roddy Bray, author of the ‘Wellbeing Workbook’

Roddy's ‘Being for Beginners’ series is designed to enable personal growth and improve wellbeing. The course integrates experiential learning, private reflection and insights from a range of disciplines and traditions, within a storytelling style. This uniquely blends powerful learning approaches creating a transformative experience.
