Multifixation campimetry: Recent developments
Damato BE.
A simple visual-field test is needed when conventional perimeters are not available. The Oculokinetic Perimetry glaucoma screener has been developed to detect moderate and severe glaucomatous visual-field loss. This hand-held chart uses 26 numbered fixation targets located around a central 1.5/400 black test stimulus on a white background. This multifixation campimeter has been found to detect advanced visual-field loss, but not early or paracentral defects. A revised version, with interchangeable test stimuli printed on a rotating disc inside the chart, tests 60 points in the central 24-degree field. This chart has wider application than the 26-point glaucoma screener and allows the test to be adapted according to the examiner's skill.
