OxPPOPS started in 2009 with a pilot study of 58 inguinal hernia repair patients, including a longitudinal quantitative sensory testing sub-study in 24 patients to identify sensory nerve disturbances and changes in experimental pain sensitivity pre- and post-surgery. This cohort has now completed follow-up at one year and the data analysis phase is well underway.
