We are pleased to invite bioscience graduates normally resident in the UK or the European Union to apply for the Mabel Churn Scholarship for a three year DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences.

The successful applicant will undertake a doctoral research project in retinal gene therapy under the supervision of Professor Robert MacLaren utilising novel technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9 for gene editing and silencing.

The Scholarship will cover the annual course fee plus an annual maintenance stipend at the RCUK rate (£15,009 for 2019-20), together with a grant of up to £500 per annum for travel and research expenses, and is tenable for three years conterminous with full fee liability. Applications for the scholarship should be received by St Cross College by the application deadline of Friday May 31st, 2019.

In addition to the scholarship application, interested candidates must apply for a DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences (course code RD_CU1) via the University of Oxford online application system by the closing date of 12pm on Friday May 31st, 2019. Applicants must list St Cross College as their first choice college in their online application in order to be eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants are also required to submit a research proposal in their online application. Applicants should have, or expect to gain, at least an upper second class honours degree in an appropriate subject.
