Alexandre Mathy

Academic Clinical Fellow

I am an Academic Clinical Fellow in Neurology at Oxford University Hospitals. I have a background in cellular neuroscience and have previously studied the the inferior olive and its role in cerebellar motor learning. In particular I got the first recordings from the axons that give rise to the climbing fiber pathway and showed that they fire in bursts which can modulate cerebellar plasticity in a way that reflects the state of the olivary network. I have also done projects in theoretical neuroscience and clinical medicine.

In the experimental neurology group, I am studying tremor in Parkinson's disease and other disease states.
