Daniyar L Dauletbekov

Daniyar completed his medical studies and ophthalmology training at Kazakh Medical University. Subsequently he did a further residency training in ophthalmology at the university clinic Nord of Aix-Marseille University, Marseilles, France. His clinical area of expertise is vitreoretinal surgery and he completed a three month fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University Eye Clinic at Ludwig-Maximillian University, Munich, Germany. Under Professor MacLaren’s supervision, Daniyar works on a gene therapy project in retinitis pigmentosa - one of the world's most common cause of inherited blindness, affecting roughly 1 in 3000 individuals.
