Iske Marshall

I coordinate the research administration of the groups of Tim Behrens, Karla Miller, Steve Smith and Heidi Johansen-Berg. My responsibilities include:

- Assisting with grant applications
- Monitoring grant budgets
- Managing grant reporting
- Ensuring compliance with Open Access requirements
- Managing the ethical approval process for studies
- Assisting with recruitment and other HR issues

My background is in the cognitive neuroscience of memory and language. I did my PhD and a short postdoc at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, where I used EEG, MEG and fMRI to study how novel words are consolidated and integrated into lexical memory. After that I decided to switch to a more administrative role within research. When I moved to Oxford in 2017 I started a job as coordinator of INDIREA, a large Marie Curie Initial Training Network at Experimental Psychology. The INDIREA project funded 13 PhD projects across Europe, focussing on various aspects of the diagnosis and rehabilitation of attentional disorders. During the final year of the project I was responsible for compiling the scientific and financial reports to the EC.
