Biography
I am an honorary research fellow in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, as well as MS Australia Postdoctoral Fellow and consultant neurologist in Australia. My research interests are in autoimmune neurologic diseases, specifically multiple sclerosis (MS), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), and the investigation of clinical outcomes, treatment effects, comorbidities and disease mechanisms.
I was the ECTRIMS Research Fellow in the Oxford NMO Highly Specialised Service in 2024-25 and worked with Prof Jacqueline Palace, A/Prof M. Isabel Leite and Dr Ruth Geraldes. During this time, I researched MOGAD and NMOSD and clinical outcomes, and presented our work at various international meetings and conferences including ECTRIMS Congress 2025. Our work on treatment strategy in MOGAD was presented at the 17th Annual PACTRIMS Congress in 2025, where I was awarded the MSJ-PACTRIMS Investigator Award.
In Australia in my role as a neurologist, I see patients with multiple sclerosis and related diseases. I also have a clinical interest in other neuroimmunologic diseases such as NMOSD, MOGAD, myasthenia gravis and other CNS antibody positive (e.g. LGI1 autoimmune encephalitis) and negative diseases, having gained exposure to these conditions during my fellowship in Oxford.
