Clinical Research Fellow

I am an clinical research fellow and DPhil student working in the Motor Neuron Disease group, funded by the Association of British Neurologists/Guarantors of Brain clinical research fellowship and the University of Oxford Clarendon scholarship. I studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge, graduating with distinction. I have previously worked in the group as an academic foundation doctor and academic clinical fellow (on the NIHR integrated clinical academic pathway), during which time I have worked on biofluid biomarkers, induced pluripotent stem cells models and epidemiological risk factors of ALS.

My current work aims to look at common and rare genetic variants associated with ALS risk and how these interact to influence disease risk and phenotype, in large population datasets and clinical cohorts. This information will be crucial for genetic counselling, efficient design of preventative trials and the ultimate aim of precision prevention.
