background
I am a Neurologist with expertise in Neuroepidemiology, Neurovascular Ultrasound, and Translational Stroke Research. I completed my medical training at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé I (Cameroon) and my Neurology residency and stroke fellowship at the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine (Switzerland). I am a Fellow of the European Board of Neurology and a Member of the American Academy of Neurology.
I did my research training at the University of Liverpool and the University of Alberta where I obtained a PhD in Neuroscience with a focus on biomarkers of high-risk carotid atherosclerosis.
I joined the Centre for Prevention of Stroke and Dementia in 2023 as a Clinical Research Fellow to continue working on epidemiology, pathobiology, and biomarkers of stroke, atherosclerosis, and vascular cognitive impairment.
My future goal is to reinvest the expertise and knowledge gained to establish a Global Stroke Programme in Africa with the mission of improving local prevention and care strategies for cerebrovascular diseases and training future generations of African Neurologists.
