We offer a work experience week for Oxfordshire students, as well as getting involved in a range of other initiatives.

We usually offer a five-day programme of work experience activities for Year 12 students based in Oxfordshire who are interested in brain research and are planning to go to university. Please do not contact us if you are not based in Oxfordshire. The programme gives students the chance to learn from practising scientists and includes:

  • a project using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)
  • a project using magnetoencephalography (MEG)
  • short talks about neuroscience research going on in the Department
  • mini projects on ophthalmology, sleep, cellular neuroscience and eye movements
