We offer a work experience week, as well as getting involved in a range of other initiatives.

NDCN Work Experience Programme 2-6 July 2018

The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences offers a five-day programme of work experience activities for 12 Year 12 students based in Oxfordshire who are interested in brain research and are planning to go to university. The programme gives students the chance to learn from practising scientists and will include:

  • a project using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)
  • a project using magnetoencephalography (MEG)
  • short talks about neuroscience research going on in the Department
  • mini projects on ophthalmology, sleep, cellular neuroscience and eye movements

We will also be running a one-day neuroscience experience on Monday 2 July for up to 30 students.

There are 12 places available for the five-day programme (2-6 July 2018), and 30 places available for the one-day brain imaging experience on Monday 2 July,  for which applicants will automatically be considered if they do not gain a place on the five-day course.
