<jats:p>While specific sleep disorders are known to precede Parkinson’s disease, it remains unclear how sleep disturbances in the general population affect risk. Lysen et al. report that poor sleep quality and short sleep duration, and their deterioration over time, are associated with increased risk of parkinsonism, including Parkinson’s disease.</jats:p>
