Using non-invasive brain stimulation to refine motor learning

We are interested in understanding how the brain learns, and whether we can improve your ability to learn and refine a new motor skill using a new non-invasive brain stimulation protocol.

We will investigate this by using a safe brain stimulation technique, called transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS). tACS uses weak electrical currents to modulate brain activity and change behaviour.

We are interested in understanding how to improve motor learning in the healthy brain as these findings can be used to support patients who have lost motor functions following a stroke.

Healthy volunteers needed

To take part, you must be healthy, right-handed, between 18-35 years of age, and speak fluent English.

You will be asked questions about your medical history to check that you can safely receive brain stimulation.

You will be invited to attend the John Radcliffe Hospital. The session will take up to two hours and you will be compensated for your time.

There is no obligation to take part.
