I am a DPhil student supervised by Kia Nobre and my work is funded by a EU Marie Curie Early Stage Research Fellowship. I am part of the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity and I am affiliated with Wolfson College.
At the Brain & Cognition Lab, my research is aimed at investigating and differentiating different aspects of attention. I use cognitive and psychophysical tasks combined with fMRI and EEG to study this topic.
Specifically, I am interested in brain systems and mechanisms supporting temporal and spatial orienting of attention, and how these two types of attention guide adaptive perception.
By applying my research to clinical populations, I ultimately want to develop biomarkers for attentional change after brain lesion and in neurodegenerative conditions.
Before I came to Oxford, I studied biology and neuroscience at the University of Regensburg, where I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s programme in Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences.
Besides my research, I am also interested in international cooperation. I previously have been working at the Health Section of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
