Neuronal-glial interactions in alpha-synucleinopathies

Biography

Alexandra Yendrzheyevskiy obtained her BSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London in 2021 before completing her MRes Degree in Drug Discovery and Development in the Faculty of Chemistry at Imperial College London in 2022. She worked in the biotechnology industry in Heidelberg, Germany for two years focusing on immunotherapeutic research, before returning to the UK to start her DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences under the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford.

Research Summary

Alexandra is interested in neurodegenerative diseases and is currently a DPhil student supervised by George Tofaris under the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford. Her project focuses on studying the interaction between neurons and glial cells in alpha-synucleinopathies using models derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs).
