Rhodes Scholar and DPhil Student
Mark, the recipient of a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, is medical graduate from Australia who is studying for a DPhil in Prof MacLaren's research group.
During his medical studies at the University of Adelaide, he also completed a first-class honours thesis on experimental Parkinson's disease. He undertook his medical internship at the Lyell McEwin Hospital in South Australia, before a further year in the Ophthalmology department at Flinders Medical Centre. At the MacLaren lab he is researching inherited retinal diseases, focusing particularly on retinal gene therapy.
