I am working with Betina Ip and Juju Fars in the Vision Group, based at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.
We are investigating Amblyopia (also known as 'lazy eye') which is currently the most common cause of vision loss in children. It is commonly treated using Occlusion Therapy (also known as 'patching'). This treatment cures the condition for many children but is ineffective for others.
The KOALA study will help us to understand how Occlusion Therapy changes signals in the brain to understand how the treatment works. We hope that these findings will lead to better treatment for Amblyopia in the future.
Find more information about the KOALA study here. We are currently looking for KOALA study participants. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like more information- we would love to hear from you!
