I am working with Betina Ip and Juju Fars in the Vision Group, based at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.
We are investigating Amblyopia (also known as 'lazy eye') which is currently the most common cause of vision loss in children. It is commonly treated using Occlusion Therapy (also known as 'patching'). This treatment cures the condition for many children but is ineffective for others.
We are planning a study which will help us understand how Occlusion Therapy changes signals in the brain to understand how the treatment works. We hope that these findings will lead to better treatment for Amblyopia in the future.
We are currently looking for Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) contributors: parents of 4-8 year old children with Amblyopia and parents of 4-8 year old children who have had an MRI scan, to meet with us for 1 hour and help us improve our planned research.
