DPhil Student
I am a DPhil student at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Imaging (WIN) under the supervision of Professor Heidi Johansen-Berg based at FMRIB - John Radcliffe Hospital and Biomedical Sciences Building.
My DPhil project investigates myelin plasticity associated with sleep-dependent memory consolidation. My research involves behavioural testing, MRI scans, electrophysiological recordings, and histological analysis of brain tissue in wild-type and transgenic mouse models.
Ultimately, my goal is to understand the underlying mechanisms of myelin plasticity in the context of memory consolidation during sleep, and to inspire treatment for memory dysfunction caused by brain damage or demyelination.
Previously, I worked as a research assistant at the Department of Neuroscience, City University of Hong Kong. I did my Honours research training with the Epigenetics and Neural Plasticity Laboratory at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. I obtained my undergraduate degrees in psychology from a Joint Bachelor's Degree Programme.
