Zaineb Mohsin
Clinical Research Fellow
I am a clinical research fellow in the Critical Care Research Group and a practising clinician. As part of the Critical Care Research Group, supported by the Biomedical Research Centre, I engage in collaborative research with the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering. Our project aims to develop Machine learning/AI-driven models that could aid in understanding the risks faced by patients after ICU discharge through analysis of ICU databases within the US, Europe and the UK.
My role also includes contributing to trials looking at using wearables which are devices that record a patient's vital signs in real time to help detect early deterioration post-ICU discharge, so patients are managed appropriately in the hospital or home setting.
Additionally, I am involved in reviewing research focused on predicting diabetes in patients who have experienced critical illness, as part of a broader initiative to support patients' transition from hospital to home care.
With a background in Critical Care (MSc) and ongoing ST7 training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and General Internal Medicine, my work is oriented towards integrating research findings into practical healthcare solutions.
