Temporal trends in cardiovascular diseases and risk factors
I am a General practitioner and my research interests lie mainly in improving the prevention of cardiovascular disease with particular emphasis on Stroke. My doctorate focussed on temporal trends in stroke incidence at younger ages and I also explored temporal trends in risk factors in working age adults. I have been awarded an MRC/NIHR Clinical Academic Research Partnership grant to study how we can improve the prediction of cardiovascular events and management of risk factors in individuals and populations with a particular focus on primary prevention in women.
