Postdoctoral Researcher (Neuroimaging)

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Oxford University Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (OxCIN). My research focuses on developing methods and tools for analysing multimodal neuroimaging data, with particular emphasis on identifying and harmonising predictive biomarkers for brain disorders across research and clinical datasets; designing and implementing scalable neuroimaging pipelines on secure and federated data analysis platforms; and promoting open science and reproducible research practices in neuroimaging.

I am currently working on harmonising multisite brain MRI datasets to improve the generalisability and reproducibility of neuroimaging findings across data acquired on different scanners and at different sites. This work brings together high-quality research datasets collected across multiple sites and scanners with routine clinical scans, including NHS data, to develop harmonisation pipelines that enable their robust analysis and broader research use. By improving the reliability of neuroimaging outcomes, this work aims to support both research and clinical translation.

Previously, I worked with the Dementias Platform UK (DPUK), an initiative focused on developing new ways of detecting, treating, and preventing dementia. There, I adapted the UK Biobank brain imaging pipeline for dementia cohorts on the DPUK platform. This pipeline is available to users through the DPUK remote analysis environment and is also openly accessible for application to new datasets.

I work with a range of neuroimaging software tools for analysing multimodal brain MRI data. I also use Python, MATLAB, and R for coding, machine learning, and statistical modeling. I particularly enjoy working with datasets from psychiatric cohorts, as well as exploring challenging questions such as how to interpret findings from smaller, especially clinical, datasets and how to develop robust, reproducible brain imaging pipelines.

I am a steering committee member of Reproducible Research Oxford and one of the five UKRN Local Network Leads, where I work with colleagues across disciplines to promote reproducible and open research practices through technical training such as Software Carpentries workshops and community events at the University of Oxford. I am also a steering committee member of the OxCIN Global Scholars Programme, through which I support equitable global collaborations and interdisciplinary research. In addition, I am an EDI Ambassador for the Brain Technologies Theme, where I work with colleagues to advance workforce EDI and research inclusion across the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.
