Clinical Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research
CLINICAL SLEEP NEUROSCIENCE
We spend approximately one-third of our lives sleeping. What fascinates me most about this intriguing process is how the brain restores its energy and prepares both itself and the whole body for the day ahead.
As a clinician and sleep neuroscientist, I am aware of how vital sleep is for wellbeing and health. This is why I have dedicated my professional life to improving my patients' sleep, focusing my research on better understanding this essential biological function and how to treat sleep disturbances.
My clinical expertise in the different facets of sleep medicine and neurodegenerative disorders continues to inspire my research, addressing questions that are both clinically relevant and have the potential to improve patient care and outcomes.
I am also an enthusiastic teacher and find teaching to be an enriching experience that brings fresh insights and new perspectives to both research and clinical practice for students and mentors alike.
