Clara Ehrenzeller

DPhil student and Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholar
Biography
Clara is a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, where her research focuses on EFEMP1-related Doyne Honeycomb Retinal Dystrophy under the supervision of Professor Robert MacLaren. She completed her medical studies at Università della Svizzera Italiana and ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and is a Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholar. Her doctoral research is further supported by a grant from the OPOS Foundation.
Prior to Oxford, Clara investigated clinical outcome measures for Doyne Honeycomb Retinal Dystrophy, receiving the Swiss Society of Ophthalmology’s Best Clinical Research Poster Prize and the Werner Siemens Excellence Scholarship for her work.
Alongside her research, Clara has been actively involved in student representation and health policy. She previously served on the board of the Swiss Medical Students’ Association and as the Swiss Youth Delegate to the World Health Assembly. Currently, she is the student representative on NDCN's Open Data & Information Governance Working Group, Academic Officer of the Lincoln College MCR, and a board member of the Oxford Swiss Society. She is also a beneficiary of the Swiss Study Foundation, where she previously served as the student representative on the board.
Outside academia, Clara enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly through rowing, running, and cycling, and has a keen interest in languages and travel.
