David Bennett - Professor of Neurology and NeurobiologyIn this role, Professor Bennett will help to make decisions about funding innovative research that tells us how the brain controls our behaviour, how the nervous system functions throughout life in health and disease and how it responds to injury. 

In his own research, David aims to understand the response of the nervous system to injury in order to develop strategies to promote peripheral nerve repair and to prevent the development of neuropathic pain. This is complementary to his clinical interest in peripheral neuropathy and links with his specialist neuropathy clinical service at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
