Simon Rinaldi

Many congratulations to Associate Professor Simon Rinaldi being awarded an MRC Senior Clinical Fellowship.

Simon leads the University of Oxford's programme of research into the inflammatory neuropathies. During his fellowship, his group will study the underlying B and T-cell immunology of the acute and chronic inflammatory neuropathies, generate patient derived monoclonal antibodies, and use these to delineate pathogenic mechanisms. He said:

This award provides significant support to the inflammatory neuropathy group over the next 5 years and will allow us to further unravel the underlying immunology and pathological mechanisms of these disabling disorders. I’m excited to see how we can use this opportunity to improve disease classification and inform the use of targeted immunotherapies to ultimately improve outcomes for patients.
