Amin Atashgaran

Biography

Amin holds an integrated Masters degree in Neuroscience from the University of Leeds. He was awarded with the Beaumont Award for his Masters project, focused on developing cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) workflows for structural biology of neurodegenerative diseases, in the Frank lab at the Astbury Biostructure Laboratory. During his studies, Amin also completed a year-long research placement, in the Ertekin-Taner lab at the Mayo Clinic in Florida, focused on (epi)genomics of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.

Research interests

Amin is currently a DPhil candidate, supervised by Professor George Tofaris, at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford. He is keen on decoding the periphery-brain crosstalk in Parkinson's disease at single-cell resolution.
