PA to Professor Robert MacLaren

I began working for the NHS in 2018 at the Oxford Eye Hospital, working in various administrative roles and working closely with Professor MacLaren as his NHS medical secretary. My close collaboration with the Eye Research Group Oxford (ERGO) team developed my interest in clinical trials and research administration.

Since joining the University of Oxford, I work within the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences assisting Professor MacLaren as his personal assistant, and supporting the activities of the MacLaren research group. This includes managing and maintaining Professor MacLaren’s diary, processing his business-related expenses, organising his meetings and travel arrangements both nationally and internationally, and assisting with enquiries, correspondence and public engagement activities including social media.

In addition to this, I coordinate Professor MacLaren’s NHS clinics, which includes dealing with enquiries, liaising with patients, booking appointments, profiling clinics and coordinating with the ERGO team.
