Valeria Zuluaga-Sanchez
MSc by Research Student and Clarendon Scholar
Biography
I am an MSc by Research student in Clinical Neurosciences, and I am conducting research in the Cerebellar Disease Group. My research focuses on developing a pluripotent stem cell-based model of Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay (ARSACS), a rare cerebellar movement disorder. This model will allow for more robust characterization of the illness with isogenic controls, as well as open the door for more targeted therapeutics to improve the lives of patients.
My research is sponsored by the Clarendon Scholarship and a Medical Sciences Division Graduate School Studentship. Before coming to Oxford, I completed my BA in Neuroscience at Princeton University.
