The celebration marks a significant milestone in an ongoing commitment to enhance scientific research capacity and stroke management in Vietnam

A Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony was held on 15 July 2024 at the Stroke Centre, Bach Mai Hospital, Vietnam. Witnessed by leaders from partner organizations the University of Oxford, the Hanoi Stroke Association (HNSA) and Bayer Vietnam, the agreement aims to advance research capacity and foster the development and publication of clinical data within medical community in Vietnam. By addressing data gaps, this partnership aims to improve clinical decision-making and patient care optimization.

This signing marks the beginning of a new chapter in our collaborative efforts to enhance the capacity of scientific research and stroke management - Minh C.Tran, Postdoctoral Researcher

The event was attended by Postdoctoral Researcher Minh C. Tran, on behalf of the University of Oxford. Also in attendance was the First Secretary of the Vietnamese Ambassador of Science and Technology in the UK, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, as well as doctors and healthcare workers from the Stroke Centre, and Bayer Vietnam.  

‘This collaboration with the Hanoi Stroke Association and Bayer Vietnam underscores our shared vision of improving healthcare outcomes through innovative research, comprehensive clinical training, and the development of cutting-edge medical guidelines,' said Minh.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, a programme will be developed called ‘Improving the Quality of Scientific Research and Stroke Management, 2024-2025’. This will include key areas of scientific research and the generation of publications.

Building on this, the partnership also seeks to establish and nurture professional collaboration with international organisations to elevate the quality of stroke research in Vietnam.
