Molly John

MSci

DPhil Student and BBSRC/Oxford Biomedica-CTP Scholar

Molly graduated with a 1st Class Master's degree from the University of Sheffield in 2021 where she was part of the Bose Lab, studying the function of non coding RNAs.

She then joined the Retinal Disease and Repair lab, led by Dr Xue, as a research assistant. Here her work focused on the use of antisense oligonucleotides to target relevant genes in inherited retinal dystrophies.

In October 2022, Molly commenced a 4-year DPhil in Advanced Bioscience of Viral Products, funded by the BBSRC-Oxford Biomedica Collaborative Training Partnership. Molly's DPhil project will investigate the cellular and humoral immune responses to adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors, with the aim of creating more effective AAV vectors for gene therapy.
