Francesco Langella

Francesco is currently undertaking his DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences under Dr. Cehajic-Kapetanovic and Dr. Xue, funded by the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in Therapeutic Genomics. His research will focus on identifying non-viral vectors for the delivery of gene editing reagents to the retina.
He received his BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Immunology) from the University of Edinburgh in 2024, for which he was awarded a First Class mark. Subsequently, he completed his MSc in Biotechnology in Edinburgh, conducting a thesis on CRISPR gene editing in porcine embryonic stem cells and graduating in 2025.
