Caroline Nettekoven recently presented her DPhil work at the Neuromatch 2020 virtual conference. She investigated the mechanisms involved in learning to adapt a joystick movement towards a target over time. Her work found a link between retention of adaptation to motor cortex concentration of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, and the network connections between the motor cortex and the cerebellum.
